Ashes Of Euphoria (Paperback)

A heart-pounding journey through the parts of Cape Town where loyalty is myth, survival is everything, and hope dwindles in the darkest moments.

The Ashes of Euphoria is a gritty novel set in the streets of Kraaifontein, Cape Town. This novel follows three complex and beautifully drawn characters: Jameel, a Media Studies graduate working at Shoprite; his cousin Zaid, a Bolt driver creating a porn website; and Stacey, an unemployed Geology graduate who performs in Zaid's videos for money.

When Zaid's website attracts a supposed investor, the trio attends what they believe is a business meeting. But the encounter turns deadly: Zaid is murdered, Stacey is kidnapped, and Jameel is forcibly recruited into the gang.

This masterfully crafted story is action-packed and balances gut-wrenching tragedy with unexpected moments of wit and humour. A stellar new voice on the South African literary scene.
