This is a story of two people who create new lives, suffer tragedy, and rebuild. The making of a Marine and future Marine Officer as he leads his men in preparation for war. His search for a lost love and the care, protection and well-being of the Marines who served with him. The young woman becomes a lawyer and premier defense attorney in the Federal Court system only to discover her life is not what she wishes it to be. Afraid to enter into a relationship, committed only to her son, she is bitter and unhappy with her life; the man she loved did not come for her as he promised. It is a love story within a story of love.
