Watch Dog Of Freedom (Paperback)

Jay Ferrell, is a 'want to be' investigative reporter in the tradition of the great investigators like Drew Pearson, Jack Anderson and Woodward-Bernstein. After joining the newspaper staff at Oceana University as a graduate student, he faces many obstacles in his desire to use Freedom of the Press to write the 'truth'. Writing the 'truth' about college affairs nearly gets him fired. Then he uncovers a deeper conflict between two warring groups which could lead to a violent conflict and damage not only the participants but the image of the college itself. As the protagonist, Jay Ferrell accepts the challenge to dig up the 'truth' despite being in danger himself. Using a cadre of female students to aid him, he discovers the 'truth' and the villain behind the curtain. As tension mounts, Jay is faced with a final dilemma relating to 'truth' and the application of the concept that 'the ends justify the means'. Jay 'comes of age' as he fights for the 'truth' to reveal what the 'true' story is regardless of the pressure to 'cover up the truth.' It is a fast moving easy read with interesting characters and social conflict.
