President Stirs up Members p RESIDENT Joseph B. Maccabe, of the A. A. U. is now making a tour of the western states in the interests of the Association and of physical training in general. It is a trip similar to one recently made in the southern states. During the present tour he will visit, consult with and address, local and sectional associations, officials and gatherings of men interested in athletics. President John J. O'Connor of the Western Association of the A. A. U. issued a call for a meeting at the Missouri Athletic Club, St. Louis, June 5th. At this meeting all those who are interested in the advancement of amateur sport, both college, club, Y. M. C. A. and Turners, were invited to be present. President Maccabe expected to address them and make arrangements for an active campaign in the Western Association territory, which embraces Missouri, Wyoming, Arkansas. Oklahoma, South Dakota, Indian Territory, Kansas, North Dakota, Kentucky, Nebraska, New Mexico and Colorado. Mr. Maccabe then leaves for the Pacific Coast, where Herbert Hauser, secretary of the Association in that section, has arranged for a conference in San Francisco, June 17th.
