It would De surprising, indeed, after having commented upon it so frequently, were we to strike out any new observation. THE MANAGER IN DISTRESS.--The title of this trifling piece indicates pretty plainly our manager's state of mind when he resolved upon producing it. However, it has succeeded pretty well, so well indeed as to have induced its frequent repetition. It went off last night with considerable eclat. ABON HASSAN.--This piece was as well performed as ever...-' 1.--CALEDONIAN THEATRE. CALABRIAN ASSASSIN, OR THE RECLUSE OF THE MONASTERY.--This is a new melo-drama said to be written expressly for -u: _ mi 1 i_ J;j and to express our candid opinion we it should not be repeated. We never saw such a production Kjf shrtds;'ai)rpaeF, and as to plot there is none. It is simply a combination of unprofitable staff. Gann acted Belerose a Recruit, and certain we are no recruit could have ranted to such a degree as he did; butwccansee plainly, that unless the Manager make a complete change in his company it will never do. Was ever anew piece offered to the public with a cast such as this one? We have for the principal character J. H. Mason, who, every one knows, cannot, and in fact, was not allowed to act the walking gentleman, far less principal tragedy. Then..
