The successful experiments in the different parts of the union has been so great that no doubt can exist as to the practicability of its culture in this state. Indeed we have seen a few skeins manufactured by a young lady of Ann Arbor (whose name, we are sorry to soy, "we have forgotten, ) which, if we are at all any judge, is a beautiful specimen of what may be done, and we think it cannot be surpassed in any part of the Union. As it is in contemplation by several gentlemen of our state to enter into the culture of silk, and it being our desire to furnish valuable information on all subjects which may tend to increase their profits we have solicited and obtained from a gentleman of this city who has been successfully engaged in the business a series of articles upon the rearing of silk worms and the manufacture of silk which we shall place before our readers at as early a date as possible Would it not be of much advantage to the cause, and a source of much benefit to the community at large, for our State Legislature to grant a premium of------cents upon each pound of?ilk manufactured in the State.
