Rajpal Yadav was born and brought up in Shahjahanpur, which is near by Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where he received his education. He played in Shahjahanpur theatre in Uttar Pradesh before going to mumbai for theatre training in the Bhartendu Natya Academy. After completing a two year course there, he later went to the National School of Drama. Rajpal came in Mumbai in 1996 to try his luck as an actor.
