We vow we will be true, And o'er the world remember The passion we renew, This night in calm September. BENEATH THE MOON One night, beneath the shining moon I met my own true love, In shimmering silk and dainty shoon; And in the light above I whispered all the passion of my heart And pleaded my sweet secret to impart. She listened to my honeyed speech With shining eyes downcast; And as she stood within my reach The shadowy fear had past.
