This series on translatology encourages studies of any type of interlingual transmission (translation, interpreting, subtitling and others). Contributions are general and systematic studies of interlingual transmission, and the emphasis lies on analyses of translation work, translation practices, procedures, findings in an international perspective from a practical, theoretical of pedagogical angle in order to address issues in the craft, methods, and the result of translation studies worldwide. In order to make for focussed discussions, papers are arranged in groups around specific topics in each issue; each issue is indexed separately; the language of publication is English, yet the issues discussed involve all language and language pairs, and quotations in other languages than English are mediated or translated; and there are two issues of 144 pages a year, including notes and reviews. This volume includes discussion of translation, opportunism and the computer; literal meaning in performative translatology; and selecting texts for teaching technical translation.
