University Medical Students' Attitude Towards Sports Participation (Paperback)

Health and sports scholars agree that participation in sports and physical activity contribute to and improve individual's health and well-being. Several health care professionals use it as a therapy for their clients. Despite the knowledge of its importance as a therapy, there is paucity of literature on the attitude of the recipients towards it, particularly among medical students. This book therefore, presents the attitude that Kenyan university medical students have towards sports participation. It analyzes the students' attitude towards it, and the effect of; their participation, leisure time allocation, academic level, gender, and significant others on their attitude towards sports participation. The findings provide a basis for the use of sports participation as part of therapy and are useful in the designing of effective students' counselling and sporting programmes.
