'Crusaders - The Fall of Jerusalem' (2001) follows three friends - bell founder Peter (Alessandro Gassman), baron's son Richard (Johannes Brandrup) and peasant farmer Andrew (Thure Riefenstein) - as they set out to join the Crusades and to play their part in the liberation of Jerusalem. 'Crusaders 2' (2001) concludes the story of the three young friends from the Italian town of Aurocastro. Will their ideals be tempered by the reality of the violence that surrounds them on all sides as they battle against the eleventh century Saracen soldiers who have occupied the Holy City?
