The group relations tradition developed by W.R.Bion, A.K. Rice and
others at the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations in London is a
particularly experiential form of learning. Due to its experiential
nature, there has been little written as an introduction to this
method of studying group relations. However, Armstrong, Lawrence
and Young have drawn together their reflections and expositions on
this tradition and its recent developments to produce this much
needed introduction. The contents include such essays as: "Mental
Space and Group Relations,"The presence of Totalitarian States of
Mind in Institutions," and "Making Absences Present: the
Contriution of W.R. Bion to Understanding Unconscious Social
Phenomena"
