Watch as each of their lives take on a whole new meaning as they enter into a virtual world unlike anyone has ever seen.Follow each of their stories as they are intertwined with the saga of the OpenLight development team, whose primary mission is to create the most addictive, entertaining and highest-grossing online role playing game of all time. The story is set five minutes in the future, where the nascent technologies of virtual reality goggles and gloves have finally reached the market for widespread and solid commercial use. The OpenLight development team has used these technologies, as well as unprecedented role-playing game design, to fully immerse gamers into the world of Vero City. The game contains a variety of specialized "Occupations" which are assigned to starting players, and they find themselves intricately involved in their daily tasks. Unlike its predecessors, V.O. job classes are mostly not hack-and-slash, but rather of a political and more cerebral nature.Based on the obscure novel Noble Phasic, the game's theme is one of a post-apocalyptic future beset by a nanite holocaust. Faithful to the original book, the game's universe has fifty surviving mega-cities, some of which are populated entirely by artificial intelligences. Battling for total supremacy is the Cirrus Mother Brain, a satellite-based intelligence whose origin was the novel's, and the game's, centerpiece, Vero City.
