Ruby's Time Out (Paperback)

Ruby's son had left for the big city life vowing never to return. Ever since Orion his father had died he had gotten more and more distant. She and Orion had been re-en actors of 18th/19th century living and arts. They even went into teaching the old arts. Ruby made quilts, soaps, lotions and to sell over the internet. The economy was going badly. There were less and less orders. She made sure she was always stocked on supplies for her crafts as well as food and goods. She made sure she had supplies. One could get snowed in for weeks on end. Ruby was planning on going into town again to Church. She drove down the road to where the black top met the dirt road. The road ended in a great forest of huge evergreens. Getting out of the car she made her way through the trees and walked through the trees. The land teamed with animals; herds of elk, deer and buffalo? A pack of wolves was taking down an elk calf and she felt very naked. Looks like I'm going for a long walk down to the valley to see if anyone is there.
