D.A.Levy & the Cleveland Mimeograph Revolution - A Double DVD (DVD)

Cultural Writing. Bottom Dog Press presents a double DVD remembering the poet d.a.levy and the 1960s Mimeograph Revolution. A major literary figure of Cleveland's underground poetry and alternative press scene, levy's Renegade Press (later renamed 7 Flowers Press) printed 55 books and 30 magazine issues prior to levy's untimely death in 1968, among them works by Charles Bukowski and Ed Sanders. The first disc features an interview with Ed Saunders, chronicling an era of coffeehouse readings and civil unrest. It ends with a tribute poem to d.a.levy: "d.a.levy/ the chaff of/ genius/ blown/ up above/ harsh Cleveland./ It may take centuries/ to sort him out/ It often does/ with poets."-Ed Saunders. The second disc features a reading from levyfest 2005, hosted at Cleveland State University by members of the Cleveland Mimeograph Revolution and friends of the poet.
