(3) The meek--those who have the beautiful ornament of a meek and quiet spirit. (4) Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. (5) The merciful--to enemies, to the weak, to animals. (6) The pure in heart. (7) The peacemakers. (8) Those persecuted for righteousness' sake. Who said these people would be happy? Is it true? Every word Jesus says always true. Is it the same now? Jesus same yesterday, to-day, and for ever--G always ready to comfort those who mourn, to fill those who want the Bread of Life and Living water; to make good the word of blessing given in this sermon so many years ago. You have heard the words, you have learnt them, and it is a very good thing if you know them well; but that is not all, --ask God to help you do them, learn to be meek and gentle like Jesus, to long after righteousness, to be merciful, pure and a peacemaker.
