To Alaska and Back (Paperback)

This is a story of Ellen Greene's birth and general genealogy. She talks about family with various incidences while growing up as she remembers them. She tells of her dad and mom and their influence on her, of Dad's frequent moves as he was able to improve himself and the family lifestyle. She takes us through her schooling, training as a nurse and a "call" to be a missionary. She tells of how she got to Alaska, the hospital she worked in, the church she worked with and the interactions with the Eskimo people. The village of Nome eventually felt like home to her as she married and raised her family there. The book climaxes with the heartaches of divorce and the circumstances that brought her and her daughter back to the lower forty-eight states to live.
