Television in Republic of Macedonia was first introduced in
1964.Digital Television began in Skopje in November, 2009. The
platform was launched by ONE and is called 'BoomTV'. MPEG-2 is used
for broadcasting standard definition channels and MPEG-4 is used
for broadcasting high definition channels. Forty channels are
available for viewing and include all national networks. DTT is
currently available to 95% of the population.On 17 November, 2008,
IPTV officially started in Macedonia when the country's first IPTV
service, 'MaxTV', was launched by Makedonski Telekom.
