Not illustrated. 1817 Excerpt: ...Deura celebran dum, will, that the farmers shall be bound to pay the amount of their rents also in our Church to the Receiver or his Deputy; the alienation or mortgage of any manor, land, rents, tenements, or any other immovable thing, we do altogether prohibit, for we wish our Church to fatten, not to waste away. Finally, Causes and Suits in Law for the defence, recovery, and conservation of the rights of the said Church, the Dean himself, nor any one of the Canons, shall not institute, or prosecute, lay aside, or relinquish, without the advice of the Chapter; all benefices, every Rectory, Vicarage, or other ecclesiastical benefit of that kind, belonging to the patronage, nomination, or presentation of our Church, shall be bestowed by the Dean, or, in his absence, the Vice Dean, with the consent of the Chapter. Of the Election of the Minor Canons. CHAPTER XIX. Chapter 20th in the Statutes of Henry and Elizabeth. Forasmuch as we have determined that in this our Church God shall be worshipped F 2 with dum, decrevimus, statuimus, et volumus, ut tam illi quinq. presbyteri quos Minores Canonicos vocamus quam octo Clerici Laici ad haec Diaconus qui Epistolem leget (quos omnes ad Dei laudes in Ecclesiae nostrae templo affidue decantandus decrevimus) sint quantum fieri possit eruditi, famae bonae, et conversations honestae, denique cantando periti, id quod constare volumus judicio eorum qui in eadem Ecclesia artem Musicam probe callent eligentur autem cum loca illorum vacaverint per Decanum aut eo absente per ViceDecanum et Capitulum. Porro in ipsa sua admissione hujus modi juramentum praestabunt.
