Oct. 7. 1800, and was s. by his only son John James 2nd earl; b. in 1760. His lordship To. in 1784, Grace only dau, of Thomas Cuffe, Esq., of Grange, Co. Kil- kenney, but by her (who d. Feby, 10, 1856) had no issue. He d. July 23. 1823, when the Viscounty and Earldom expired while the barony reverted to his kinsman John Maxwell-barry, as 5th baron. His lordship who was P. C, Col. of the Cavan miltia, and a representative peer, was b. Jan. 18. 1767, and To. July 4 1789, Julian-Lucy, dau. of Arthur, Earl of Monntnorris, but her ladyship d. Oct 10. 1833, without issue. He d. Sept. 20. 1838, and was s: by his brother, The Rev. Henrt Maxwell as 6th baron; who m. Sept. 5. 17.)8, Lady Anne Butler, eldest dau. of Henry-Thomas, 2nd earl of Carrick and by her ladyship (who d. May 29. 1831) had issue I. Henrt 7th baron. II. Somerset-Richard present peer. III. John-Barry, lieut 14th foot; b. May 16. 1807; d. unm. Mar. 2. 1833. IV. Charles-Robert b. 1808; d. unm. Apr. 17. 1821. V. Edward William 6. in 1812; d. unm. in Deo, 1838. VI James-Pierce lient-col. in the army Knt. of the Medjidie, wounded severely in the Crimea; formerly M.P. Co. Cavan; b. 1813. VII. Richard-Thomas b. in 1815; To. Mar. 7. 18-18, Charlotte-Anne, 2nd dau. of the Rev. Henry-P. Elrington, D.D., precentor of Ferns, and d. Jan. 22. 1874 having had issue Somerset-Henry, b. Mar. 7. 1819; To.
