A 60-minute audio course designed as an introduction to the basics
for those who wish to learn Mandarin quickly. It features more than
300 essential words and phrases. A narrator guides the student
through the programme, providing brief explanations and English
translations of the Mandarin phrases. All that is required of the
student is to listen and repeat after the native speakers. A
mini-script with pronunciation guide is included, although the
cassette may be used alone. The programme contains short quizzes to
help students to think in Mandarin and short dialogues so that they
can hear the language spoken naturally.
