Naupactus (also known as the white-fringed weevil or white-fringed
beetle) is a genus of weevils in the family Curculionidae. Many
species of the genus are considered pests, both as larvae and as
adults. The genus is native to South America, although several
species were inadvertently introduced to North America and have
become widespread in the southern United States. At least one
