La canzone e apparsa in due differenti versioni: una elettrica di genere "Hard," uscita come Lato B dell'hit Hey Jude, e l'altra, invece, una lenta ballata acustica denominata Revolution 1, pubblicata nell'album The Beatles (White Album). Nello stesso album e stata incisa un'altra canzone dal titolo Revolution 9, di genere sperimentale e di avanguardia. E la versione uscita su 45 giri nel 1968, e venne inserita nella antologia Hey Jude pubblicata nel 1970 oltre che in altre compilations, come The Beatles 1967-1970 e Past Masters Volume Two.
