L. was converted from Popery to LutheranUni about the age of thiny by his friend Bilney (afterward burnt for heresy), T t and died himself for the sane imputed oflence, at Oxford, ared eighty, in 1355. Sermons, and Life 2 H. pi. 1758 Latitudinarians truly represented, &c....in Three Parts.... 1671 'This excellent Work was written hy Dr. Fowler, afterward Bishop of Gloucester. See Mosh. Eccl. Hut. V. 412--415. tnd 464. n. The bold and perilous object of the Latitudinarians was, to lessen the breach between the Arminians and the Calvinists. At the head of their list stood the venerated names of Chilling orth and Hale, and their rauks were illustrated by a Cudworth, a More, a Whichcot, and a Tillotson; who in the pursuit of this noble project braved the odious appellations of Atheists, Deists, or Sociniaus, plentifully bestowed upon them by the bigots of both parties. If the Calvinists and Arminians jointly claim a King, says Maclaine, the latter alone can boa it of a Newton, a Locke, a Clarke, and a Boyle. Latouch's Preservative against Atheism and Infidelity..... 1795 Latter's (Mrs.) Miscellaneous Poetical Essay................ 1761 'Pro and Con'; or, the Opinionists 1771 Laud's Star-Chamber Speech, in 1637 (reprinted by Rawlinson), with the Dedication, of which only Twenty-Five Copies were thrown off.
