The general resources at the command of the physician in treating diseases, are set forth as follows by DR. E. C. SEUUIN in a lecture in his Opera Minora, 1884: Means which increase the blood supply. The first is posture. By placing the patient on his back, the amount of blood in the spinal cord is increased. In this position, if the limbs and trunk are elevated, anaemia of the brain is counteracted. Compression of arteries is another important measure.
