Lugner Friedrich is a twenty-two year-old German-Canadian, who has fallen off the beaten path. He feels he is leading his life in a sedentary fashion, and longs for something more. Because Lugner believes he can predict his own death, he rushes to obtain a new direction in life, before it's too late. An uneasy feeling sweeps over him as he realises the damage he has inflicted on his personal relationships.

Lugner decides his only chance is to recount the events that have brought him to his demise. As he attempts to find a way to correct his mistakes, he embarks on a series of flashbacks. Unfortunately his cynicism and history of pathological lying make it hard for him to separate truths. He starts by reading his old journal, and reminiscing about each entry. He sits in front of his computer, and starts writing. He hopes that the truth will set him free.
