Lorenzo (Renzo) Mongiardino (Genoa, 12 May 1916 - Milan, 16 January 1998) was an Italian architect, interior designer and production designer. He was nominated for two Academy Awards in the category Best Art Direction. In 1936 he moved to Milan to study architecture and in 1942 he graduated at the Politecnico with Gi Ponti. Since 1944 he collaborated with the magazine Domus, writing many articles and he undertook his multiform career, addressed especially to creations of domestic and theatre environments. Since the early fifties he began to establish himself as an architect, working in his home-studio in downtown Milan.
