It is a subject of interest to myself, as I am one of the county representatives on the Thames Conservancy, and I know what has been going on. But if anybody is influenced by the idea that there would be an increased population in the Thames Valley which would bring about a degree of pollution such as formerly existed, they must know very little of the subject. I daresay you know that formerly there were a number of towns upon the Thames and upon the affluents of the Thames which drained their sewage into the Thames until a very recent time?--I am very glad to hear of it. 5848.
