Not illustrated. 1904 Excerpt: ...surplus paving metalling or other material or rubbish occasioned by such work and they shall in the meantime cause the place where the road is opened or broken up to be fenced and watched and to be properly lighted at night; (6) If the County Council fail to comply with the provisions of this section the road authority where other than the County Council if they think fit may themselves at any time after seven days' notice to the County Council open and break up the road and do the works necessary for the repair and maintenance or restoration of the road to the extent in this section above mentioned and the expense incurred by the road authority in so doing shall be repaid to them by the County Council; (7) Any difference (except such as is to be determined by the Board of Trade or the Local Government Board as herein-before provided) which arises under this section between the County Council and the road authority shall be referred to arbitration under this Order. 26.--(1) Before commencing to construct any part of the railway on any road the County Council shall prepare a plan showing where it is proposed to construct the same as a single line or as a double line or as an interlacing line or otherwise and showing the proposed position thereof in the road and if a single or interlacing line the proposed position of the passing places and shall deliver to the road authority of any road of which the County Council are not the road authority a copy of the plan so far as it affects such road.
