Nature and Condition of Premises and Character of Surroundings. A separate class-room has been established for the junior boys. The beds have been fitted with spring mattresses on which straw mattresses are laid. Now desks, made in the joiners' shop, have boen fitted up in the class-rooms. The boys themselves, under the supervision of the officers, have built a large timber shed. The plans for this wore drawn in the school and mastered by the advanced boys. A double wood-chopping machine has been erected so as to economise manual laliour in tho wood-chopping department. An emergency room and a lavatory have been added to tho infirmary, and a number of modern appliances have been provided. fc), Miss St. George's--eonl. SiiiL'ins;--a very fair beginning in sol-fa, in 2 groups. Mental arithmetic, good in VI., IIL, and 1.; very fair in other classes. Geography, good generally. Recitation, good in junior; very fair in senior classes. History readers had been in intelligent use. Elementary grammar is taken. A good course of object lessons had been given to the juniors. General development of i n t e 11 i g e n ce, good. Industrial Training. (13.) (14.) Provision for Physical Training and Recreation. (15J dard reached is good.
