In i565 (6-) Her Majesty having understood that there were reformed Churches in the Diocese of Coutances, simitar to those inEngland, apd that there was a minister in Guernsey who since his arrival there bad likewise used the same order of preaching, which was also the same as was established in the French Church in London, permitted him to becontinued at St. Peter Port, it being always understood that the other parishes slwutd diligently reject all superstitions practiced in the Diocese of.Coutances, and follow the order and service set forth in the Kingdom, with the necessary injunctions to that effect.
