In this last inscription there is a manifest mistake of date: the date should be some year of Edward the Third: and the word "jure" is omitted between "de" and " maternae." Below this Atchievement are figures of Adam and Eve, which however did not originally belong to this window but were saved out of the painted glass which perished when the house was pulled down; a garter with the motto of the order; a twoheaded figure with serpents twined...
