Leia and the Storm of Shadows is the first book in a series. One stormy night, the mysterious cliff-top village of Stoneshift is battered by the Howling, a dark, magical storm. The Gardress of the village, Dame Diana Lastwyrd, and the Lightmaster Dr Humphert Hyhorse hear an unfamiliar cry. At the edge of the village cliffs, on the very tip of the headland, lies a baby girl, her hair a mass of white curls and her eyes strange and changeable, Dr Hyhorse retrieves the child from the clutches of the Howling then leaves her to the care of the Gardress. Picking up the baby, Dame Diana notices an intriguing book in the baby's basket. A note names the child Leia and asks for whoever finds the baby to care for her. When Dame Diana opens the child's book, the visions she sees shock and surprise her, beginning Leia's adventures to discover her origins and find her family.
