West Baltimore Station is a station on the MARC Penn Line located in the western part of Baltimore City along the Amtrak Northeast Corridor. It is located at 400 North Smallwood Street at the intersections of Mulberry and Franklin Streets. Two large surface lots provide parking for patrons utilizing MARC service from the station.Under current plans, the future Red Line transit line will serve this station. The station currently serves the Penn Line. It has connections with the Routes 23, 40, 46, and 150 buses.The route of the Penn Line was first operated in the mid-19th century. It was first operated as a Pennsylvania Railroad Line(later renamed Penn Central), then Conrail. The MARC operation dates from 1983, and West Baltimore Station serves as a replacement for the former Edmondson Avenue Station a few blocks north, which today is a private business.
