John Emmett Seery (February, 1861 in Princeville, Illinois - August 7, 1930 in Saranac Lake, New York), was a Major League Baseball outfielder. He played nine seasons, from 1884 until 1892. He was one of a handful of players to play in all four active leagues during his career (Union Association, National League, Players' League, and American Association). He is buried in All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach, Florida. Major League Baseball (MLB) is the highest level of professional baseball in the United States and Canada, consisting of teams that play in the National League and the American League. The two leagues merged in 2000 into a single MLB organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball after 100 years as separate legal entities.
