The Civil Practice of the Supreme Court of South Africa (Hardcover, 4th edition)

The authors of this edition give an accurate exposition of the contemporary law of High Court civil procedure. Changes introduced by particular rules of court include the abolition of further particulars to pleadings, the abolition generally of the requirement of a power of attorney, and the introduction of offers to settle instead of payments into court. Significant changes in appeal procedures have been introduced by amendments to the Supreme Court Act 59 of 1959. This led to concomitant changes in the relevant rules relating to appeals. There are a great many improvements in this edition of The Civil Practice of the Supreme Court of South Africa. These include separate chapters dealing with Anton Piller orders and interdicts. Many of the chapters have been rearranged to make the book more user-friendly, and the sequence of the book has been rendered more logical in many ways.
