It would fit the speech of our time were we to style it a strategic retreat. He went far back into lonely Arabia in order to get a start, and there is where all true advance is begun. When men fall back on God then look out for a mighty offensive. There is a drive on and soon the victor's shout. Many have gone into Arabia these recent times, distrustful of what flesh and blood could do for them, who never went there before. Men saw things, heard things, felt great truths, were conscious of the mighty God, and they came out, saying: "If God be for us who can be against us?" Soldiers who never prayed before fell back on prayer, and let any power beware which faces an army that has made its retreat to the secret place of the Most High, that has come out of the Arabia of communion and vision.
