Bogardus, however, rejected the proposition, and announced his intention to appeal to Kieft's successor. This appeal Kieft refused to entertain, as it was uncertain when the new director would arrive; and to stop " the scandal and disorder, which were prevailing more and more," the case was ordered to proceed. But the interference of mutual friends before long put an end to the prosecution; and the Tho Direct-director was enabled to attend divine service once more, by or and the.......
