Situated to the N.W. of the Lake KHANGAI Mountain. Kossogol, and near the source of the Karin, in the chain of Sayansk Mountains dividing the province of Irkoutsk and Siberia from Mongolia. Assam. These mountains form a ridge running N.E. from the frontiers of Bengal to the banks of the Kenpoo river, dividing Assam from Cassay. _ Tatary. These mountains are a continuation or division of the Ak-ta_u or Yespera Mountains, and extend west from the source of the Sogdo above Samarcand, where they rise to the north, but afterwards incline to the S.W. and terminate near Fanee on the bank of the Jihon, in Great Bucharia.
