The Goonies (1985)
From the imagination of Steven Spielberg, a bunch of misfit kids take on some greedy property developers and try to save their neighbourbood by finding the lost treasure map of a 17th century pirate. The kids are soon plunged into a swashbuckling, surprise-around-every-corner quest beyond their wildest dreams!

Police Academy (1984)
A new mayor offers a motley crew of misfits the chance to oil the wheels of justice when he lifts the restrictions which normally apply when recruiting new members to the police force. The academy soon finds that knocking them into law-enforcing shape is a riotous mishap-strewn affair.

Gremlins (1984)
An eccentric inventor brings an unusual Christmas gift home for his son Billy: a cute, real life teddy bear called Mogwai, obtained from a Chinese trinket store. Upon purchase, the shopowner offers two strict warnings: don't let Mogwai come into contact with water; and don't feed him after midnight. Inevitably, both these stipulations are ignored, and the cuddly creature begins to spawn some distinctly unruly offspring.
