From Solomon's Porch (Paperback)

If you live long enough, you will come to a place where all the pieces fit together. You'll look back and see how every event added a dimension to your life that gradually shaped your character and your future. You'll remember the people that came your way, some for only a brief appearance, others who were a part of your entire life. Some may have been angels, others may have had evil intentions, but all served a purpose. As I sit and watch the evening news, I cannot help but remember growing up in the South during a decade of change. I was just a little girl whose life was greatly influenced by two very special men. Solomon was a big Black man, and I was a little White girl. It was not circumstances or chance that brought us together. It was the hand of God. And even now, as I trace wrinkles on my face, I often think of Solomon's porch.
