Vincent is an adventuress young boy who lives with his mother Marie. Marie buys a wonderful old house with a spacious yard with all kinds of leafy green trees, and colorful flowerbeds. After the unpacking is finished, Marie would like to put a small vegetable garden in the yard, but Vincent enjoys the adventures in the yard, and is not sure he wants one. Vincent agrees to help his mother, and while digging, the shovel strikes a treasure. A treasure of a black metal box is brought up, cleaned, and opened. Discovering a small cylinder doll that works, and a yellowed letter telling of a little boy, who must bury the doll to save it. A strange gentleman appears on the sidewalk, disappears and keeps reappearing at various times. Vincent and Marie meet this charming older gentleman who has Alzheimer's disease. When the nurse comes to get this charming man the mystery of the black metal box, yellowed letter, and cylinder doll that was buried long ago, comes to life.
