M Nchengladbach-D Sseldorf Railway (Paperback)

The M nchengladbach-D sseldorf railway is a 24 km long main line on the left bank of the Rhine in the Lower Rhine region of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It has at least two tracks with continuous overhead electrification. The line was built by the Aachen-D sseldorf-Ruhrort Railway Company and is one of the oldest lines in Germany, opened in 1853 and 1854. The Aachen-Neu -D sseldorf Railway Company was founded to build a railway line from Aachen via Gladbach and Neuss to D sseldorf. This company depended on Prussian government guarantees and from 1850, it came under the management of the government-controlled Aachen-D sseldorf-Ruhrort Railway Company, along with the Ruhrort-Crefeld District Gladbach Railway Company, which opened the Duisburg-Ruhrort-M nchengladbach line in 1849 and 1851.
