Horowitz is the son of Levi Yitzchak Horowitz, the previous Bostoner Rebbe, and a scion of the Boston Hasidic dynasty. He has been rabbi of Congregation Beth Pinchas in Brookline, Massachusetts since 1980, when he was ordained by Bais Medrash Govoha, in Lakewood, New Jersey and Tshebin Yeshiva of Jerusalem. Congregation Beth Pinchas is part of the New England Chassidic Center, an umbrella organization providing religious and community services throughout the Boston area. Horowitz also serves as Director of Reaching Out Furnishing Emergency Healthcare (R.O.F.E.H.), a community based medical referral and hospitality liaison support agency founded by his father, and is a mohel (ritual circumciser). A son-in-law of rabbi Shalom HaCohen Weiss, Horowitz is related through the marriages of his children to many important figures in the Chassidic world including the Slonimer Rebbe of Jerusalem and the Sadigura Rebbe of Bnei Brak together with the Mattesdorfer Rebbe and Unsdorfer Rov of New York.
