Narran River (Paperback)

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Narran River is a river which spans the Queensland-New South Wales border in Australia. It flows into Narran Lake, near Brewarrina. It is the easterly-most of the branches of the Balonne River that flows (from the Balonne) to the Barwon River. The other branch it splits from is called the Bokhara River - the Culgoa River splits to the west from the Balonne further upstream. The major tributaries to the Balonne River are the Condamine River from the northern Darling Downs, Qld and the Maranoa and Merivale rivers, Qld. In March 2010 the Narran River at Angledool flooded the Angledool Lake and then spilled into Weetalabah Creek that cross the Castlereagh Highway, thus filling the Coocoran Lake, near Lightning Ridge. Similar flooding is expected in late January-early February 2011 after the 2010-2011 Queensland floods.
