It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Podedworze. It lies approximately 24 kilometres (15 mi) east of Parczew and 66 km (41 mi) north-east of the regional capital Lublin. The village has a population of 493. Parczew County (Polish: powiat parczewski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lublin Voivodeship, eastern Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and only town is Parczew, which lies 48 kilometres (30 mi) north-east of the regional capital Lublin. The county covers an area of 952.62 square kilometres (367.8 sq mi). As of 2006 its total population is 36,512, out of which the population of Parczew is 10,281 and the rural population is 26,231. Lublin Voivodeship (also known as Lublin Province, or Polish: wojewodztwo lubelskie v j vut stf lu b lsk ] or simply Lubelskie) is a voivodeship, or province, in eastern Poland.
