Kadesh or Qadesh - more accurately transliterated nowadays as Qadesh-a historically documented Canaanite walled hill city of antiquity along the Orontes river now believed to be the ruins known as Tell Nebi Mend, Syria in the Middle East (Palestine-Syria) outside of which Rameses the Great led a force over 1,000 miles (1,609 km) attacked the encroaching Hitite empire.
