In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1288. The municipality lies at an altitude of 704 metres and covers an area of 6.341km . It has a population of about 2150 people. Ke marok District (okres Ke marok) is a district in the Pre ov Region of eastern Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was almost entirely part of the Hungarian county of Spi, apart from a small area in the Levo a Hills (Levo sk vrchy) by the Torysa river which formed part of the county of ari .
