He has previously served prison sentences in Florida and Pennsylvania. He is currently facing 15 years in prison for four robberies, and one attempted robbery in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago in 2008, as well as an additional 30 years for charges related to his Illinois vehicle transport escape in September 2009. In 1987, at the age of 17, Robert Maday was arrested in the state of Florida in connection with charges of robbing and assaulting a pizza delivery driver. Before the trial, he escaped from a juvenile detention center. After being re-captured by police, he was convicted of robbery, kidnapping, burglary, grand theft, conspiracy to commit a felony, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of a firearm while engaged in a criminal offense, and resisting an officer without violence to his person.
