High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The 1979-80 Scottish Cup was the 95th staging of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. The Cup was won by Celtic who defeated Rangers in the final. The match was marred by crowd trouble which resulted in violent clashes between rival fans and led to a ban on alcohol at Scottish grounds which survives to this day. Scottish Cup is the main national cup competition in Scottish football. It is a knockout cup competition run by and named after the Scottish Football Association. The Scottish Cup trophy is the oldest original national trophy in the world. It was first held in 1873-74, with the first winners being Queen's Park.
